Be Mine

We had a really fun Valentine's Day. I got Valentine's from all of my playgroup pals and Mommy and Daddy gave us new books. And we got lots and lots of cards from all of our grandmas and grandpas. We're so loved! That night, Mommy and Daddy went to a dinner at church. Claire and I got to stay with some really fun babysitters and lots of other kids. I played "Duck Duck Goose" for the first time and got to draw on the chalkboards. Mommy dressed us up in special Valentine outfits, but I didn't feel like cooperating for a picture with Claire. I did, however, strip down to my diaper, put on my fireman hat, and ham it up later on.

9 Months

Claire here. I turned 9 months old this month. To celebrate, I got to go see Dr. Fernando. No shots, at least. I weighed 22lbs. 11oz. and was 29 inches long. Both of those were in the 95th percentile. And Dr. Fernando said my head continues to be way above average for my age. Mommy and Daddy think I'm perfect and will obviously be very smart. I can already say "Mama" and "bye-bye." I also wave to people when I say "bye-bye." I've been eating more and more table foods and it's getting easier because I now have 7 teeth (four on top and three on bottom). All but two came in within 10 days and boy and I ever glad that's over. I've learned to scoot across the floor on my bottom (it's giving me rug burn) and Mommy thinks I'm trying to learn to crawl. She's been trying to teach me, but I'm stubborn. Really, I'd rather be pulling my socks off.

Cabin Fever

It's been a long winter. After the big ice storm, it was really warm outside, but too soggy and wet from all the melting ice and snow to play in the yard or at the park. Mommy says we have "cabin fever" and that she can't wait until spring comes and we can play outside again. She's been trying to keep us occupied with playgroups and library trips, but sometimes I just need to run around and be crazy. Here's a pic of me and my golf clubs after a rousing game of golf in the house. And Daddy tries to get some energy out by wrestling around with me. We've also had a birthday party to attend. MaMa Funke made PaPa Funke brownies and apple cake for his birthday and he shared with the rest of us. I didn't want to try the apple cake, but I couldn't get enough after the first bite. PaPa tried to explain "logic" to Claire, but she was more interested in the camera. Hopefully, Spring will come soon and we can go back to the park and do lots of outdoor activities.Until then...
